The Year of the Snake Strikes Again

“What do you want to let go of?” I ask as we walk on the beach in Malibu, beneath a full moon. It’s not quite overhead, more like behind us. It’s been following us around. The moon. Stalking us from town to town, one night sky after another. Shining bright as a spotlight, casting long shadows depicting our always interwoven frames. Not very subtle for a stalker.

“Full moons are notoriously a time for releasing, surrendering and letting go, while new moons are for calling in and receiving,” I continue on my woo-woo rant. What more could I ask for, ever? I think as I look up at him. He reminds me of the sun. My own personal sunshine. I’ve never met someone so bright.

But this isn’t about accumulating. It’s about shedding. Like the year of the snake sheds its skin until February 17th, then leading us into the Fire Horse year. Sounds exciting, huh? But for now, it’s still time to relinquish.
